1 - The Dalesman

Having gone only about 50 metres down the hill from Fell House, we reach the corner of Howgill Lane and Main Street, where we find The Dalesman pub marking the start of the town's facilities.

Looking back as we step across the road, we see that the Dalesman is built using the local stone, as is most of Sedbergh. As we are starting this walk in the morning, unfortunately we cannot enter and enjoy the local ales and friendly ambiance, but we can always save that for this evening!

Over the road we find one of the town's outdoor shops, providing anything from boots to sleeping bags, not that you would need those in Fell House!
